There she was, a crying mess in his arms.
He would come home early, just to see her smile.
He held her hand, just so she couldn’t fall.
He took her to new places, just to see her eyes light up in wonder.
He let her make mistakes, just so she could learn from them.
He would always be there for her, even when she thought otherwise.
He may not be home early anymore, but she still waits for him with a smile so wide.
She still hasn’t fallen, even though he doesn’t hold her hand anymore.
They still go to new places, her eyes still light up.
She made some mistakes, learned from them with him by her side.
