Smile

People keep telling him,
That he’s a ball of negativity and dark energy.
While most envision him as a venom-spewing snake,
The reality wasn’t far off. He was slowly rotting on the inside.
To the world, his arrogance kept them at bay,
If only they knew, just how lost he was.
They’d always say he seemed to live in a bubble,
But pretending was almost like second nature to him.
The walls he’d built ran up so high,
No one could get through, regardless of how hard they try.
He struggled to break free the lonelier he got,
And it finally struck him, that the only way was up.
People kept saying that he’s a ball of negativity and dark energy,
And he’d never had anything to say, so all he’d do was smile.
